AWS strengthens partnership with Australia with New Cloud Deal

AWS has surpassed its partnership with the Australian government digital transformation agency (DTA) to the next level.

Both signed a new whole grain agreement that made it easier for government agencies to connect to cloud and new technologies.

This new agreement, which lays down the initial three -year term, builds on the previous agreement since 2019, which has helped to alleviate the AWS access to local councils and organizations of the public sector. Now the latest expansion expands these benefits, which makes advanced technologies such as Quantum Computing, while facilitating public procurement.

One of the main advantages? A preached contractual framework that breaks the bureaucracy and saves the time of government agencies, efforts and resources. While agencies will still have to follow market approaches to ensure competing prices, this framework causes the whole process to suffocate and more efficient.

In addition to providing access to technology, the previous overthrow. They seek to help teams of the public sector to improve their cloud and digital solutions, which makes it consider the right skills to capitalize about new innovations.

DTA CEO Chris Fechner emphasized the impact of this collection and emphasized that more than 140 government agencies – from transport and health to education and taxation – are already reliable on the AWS for providing services. With this new agreement, it expects an even greater value, distribution and safety in cloud services across the public sector.

“The new AWS arrangement will lead to better contracts, responsibility for the seller and maximize value,” Fechner said.

A remarkable upgrade in this agrement is a wider approach to AWS partner network and AWS market. This means that government agencies can explore different varieties of cloud solutions, promote innovations and strengthen services. More, with more than 240 AWS services that include top AI, security and quantum technologies on the table, they have tools of tools to speed up their digital transformation.

Since 2012, AWS has been invested deeply in Australian digital infrastructure and poured over $ 9.1 billion ($ 5.63 billion) in the construction and operation of AWS Asia-Pacific (Sydney). And the investment does not stop there – AWS plans to spend further infrastructure expansion in Sydney by 2027 and Melbourne in Sydney and Melbourne.

Louise Stigwood, director of the public sector AWS for Australia and New Zealand, has strengthened the company’s commitment:

“This arrangement included access to more than 240 AWS services included front AI, security and quantum technologies that allow faster provision of citizens’ services,” she said.

It also emphasized the role of AWS in the support of the Australian economy, digital workforce and local technology partners, long -term innovation and growth.

Security is still primary from this cooperation. AWS has recognized its responsibility for the protection of sensitive government data and has built a culture of security with significant investments in personal, process and technology. As a certified strategic hosting provider within the Australian Government certification framework (HCF), AWS meets the highest security standards. Its infrastructure was compiled by a program of evaluators of registered information security (IRAP) and is certified to operate the workload at a protected level – the highest classification for public cloud services in Australia.

With this reinforced AWS and the Australian government, the Australian government will place the foundations for more agile, safer and more innovative digital future.
