As winter keeps its possession over where I live in the Netherlands, rare moments of sunlight become rare gifts. This weekend, one such treasure set out on a bike on a quiet channel with the golden rays broke through the typically gray Dutch sky and created a perfect moment of peace. These flashes of brightness feel particularly special during January, when daylight in our corner of Europe can be rare. When we move deeper by 2025, the third week of the New Year both reflection and ahead. While global conversations are swirling around technological advances, these small, personal moments remind us to pause and apprent to the simple pleasure between our rapidly developing world.
Let’s look at the new announcements last week.
Start of Last Week
Here they are launched that captivated me.
Region AWS Mexico (Central) – In February 2024, we planned to expand the infrastructure in Mexico and have now launched the AWS Mexico Region (Central) with three areas of availability and API code MX-Center-1. This means the first area of AWS infrastructure in Mexico and increases our growing presence in Latin America. The new region provides you with local workload management, data storage, increased performance with lower latency and robust safety standards. It is equipped with advanced cloud technologies, including the top artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ml) with the purposes of built processors that understand 143 safety standards and compliance certificates. With this launch, AWS now includes availability zones in 36 geographical regions 114.
The AWS Management Console now supports simultaneous login for multiple AWS accounts-using multi-Salon in AWS Management, now you can at more birth AWS and manage your resources in one browser. You can apply for up to 5 sessions and this may be a combination of root, AWS identity and access management (IAM) or federated roles in different accounts or in the same birthday. You can scalance with multiple accounts according to AWS Best Practice instructions. You can use diffrent accounts such as development, testing and production, and compare the configurations and resource status on multiple accounts to eliminate the application of the application and other application -related problems.
Introduction of a new larger size at AMAZON EC2 Flex Instance-Wennengong’s general availability of two new larger sizes (12xLange and 16xLange) to Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) Flex (C7i-Flex and M7i-Flex). The new sizes extend the EC2 Flex portfolio and provide additional calculation options for expanding existing workloads or lowering larger size that require additional memory. These instances are powered by its own processors 4. The Intel Xeon gene, which is only available to AWS, and offers up to 15% better performance compared to compared to compared to compared to Intel processors based on other cloud providers. Flex instance is an EASST way to get the benefits of price and lower prices for most of the computing and general workload. They provide up to 19% better price performance than comparable cases of previous generation and are a great first choice for applications that make full use of computing resources. Flex instances are ideal for web and applications, dose processing, business applications, databases and more. For workload with calculations and generally-purpous, which require even larger instances (up to 192 tacks and 768 GIB memory) or continuous use of a high processor, you can use the AMAZON EC2 C7I and M7I instances.
AWS Notifications of User Notifications General Availability in AWS Cloudformation – You can use AWS Notifications to Configurate Notifications to be sent using the AWS, E -mail, AWS Chatbot or Mobile Push Center App to inform you important events such as Amazon Cloudwatch alarms. With this ability, you can define notifications configurations as part of your infrastructure procedures (IAC) and configurations of specific notifications for specific types of resources within your cloudformation AWS templates. For example, you can set up a notification that starts when the AMAZON EC2 range is developed by automatic scaling, an elastic load on the Amazon Relational Database Service (AMAZON RDS) database is provided. You have a granulalalar check over which event will evoke the announcement and who should accept them.
Be sure to see what’s new on the AWS page.
We launched existing services and types of instances in other regions:
- The Amazon EC2 M8G instances are now available at AWS Europe (Stockholm) – these instances offered larger instances with up to three times more VCP and memory compared to the Amazon M7G instances based on Graviton3. AWS GRAVITON4 processes are up to 40% fast for databases, 30% fast for web applications and 45% fast for large Java AWS processors.
- AWS announces new rental and extension of the AWS Direct Connect in Queretaro, Mexico – Direct Connect will help you create a private, physical network connection between AWS and your data center, office or collocation environment. These private connections can provide more consisting of network experience than on public Internet.
- The AMAZON EC2 C7I-FLEX instance is now available in the AWS Govcloud (US-WEST)-these instances are expanding the EC2 Flex Instances portfolio to give you the EASST method to gain the benefits of price performance for most intensive workloads.
- Backup AWS now supports the entire organization in the AWS GOVCLOUD (USA) regions-you can use AWS Backup Audit Manager for generating aggregated messages on the number and cross regions about your data protection policy and retrieve operational data on your backup and recovery activities.
- Amazon OpenSsearch Serverless is now available in the Asia Pacific (Hong Kong) – OpenSearch Serverless is the possibility of deploying without the Amazon OpenSsearch Server, which makes it easier to operate the workload of search and analysis without infrastructure management complexes.
- ASS Backup is now available in Asia Pacific (Thailand) – using AWS backups you can centrally create and manage your application data, protect your data from unintentional or malicious actions with unchanging recovery and safes and restore your data in the incident incident .
- Amazon Guardduty is now available in Asia Pacific (Malaysia) – now you can use this other region to constantly monitor and detect anomalous behavior, security threats and sophisticated multizag attacks focused on your AWS accounts to help protect your AWS DES and data.
- The Amazon EC2 R8G instances are now available in other regions-amazon EC2 R8G instances are ideal for memory-intensive workload, such as databases, cache in memory, and real-time analysis.
- The Amazon EC2 i8G instances are now available in Europe (Frankfurt) Region-I8G instance offered the best performance in AMAZON EC2 for workload demanding storage.
- Amazon S3 tables are now available in five other AWS-amazon S3 areas deliver tables first cloud storage with built-in Apache Iceberg support and the EASST method to store tabular data on a scale. The S3 tables are specifically optimized for analytical workload, resulting in up to three times rapid queries by constantly optimizing tables compared to unchanged glacier tables and up to ten times higher transactions per second compared to glacier tables stored in general S3.
